Terms of Service
Effective date: April 5, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Synapse software and related materials offered by Wandering Ghost, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including this website. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Synapse or the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software or the site.
1. Who we are
Wandering Ghost, LLC
PO Box 362
Montague, MI 49437
United States
Contact: danny@wanderingghost.us
2. The software
Synapse is provided under the license included with the software (for example, in the repository or distribution package). If there is a conflict between these Terms and that license regarding the software itself, the license controls for copy, modification, and distribution rights; these Terms still apply to your use of our services and this website and to topics the license does not cover.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Synapse or the site in violation of law or third‑party rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our or others’ systems or data
- Interfere with or disrupt the site or other users’ use of our offerings
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law
You are responsible for your vault content, backups, and any laws that apply to data you store or process.
4. Third‑party services and content
Synapse may interoperate with third‑party services (for example, Git hosting). Your use of those services is governed by their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third‑party services or content you access through Synapse.
5. Disclaimers
THE SOFTWARE AND SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the software or site will be uninterrupted, error‑free, or free of harmful components. You use Synapse and the site at your own risk.
6. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WANDERING GHOST, LLC OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF SYNAPSE OR THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SOFTWARE OR SITE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF U.S. $50 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Wandering Ghost, LLC and its owners, contractors, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of Synapse or the site, your vault content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
8. Changes
We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version on this site and updating the effective date. Your continued use after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where allowed by law. If you do not agree, stop using the software and the site.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the site or cease offering updates or downloads at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.
10. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. For disputes not subject to arbitration or small-claims court, you and we consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Michigan, except where prohibited by law.
11. Miscellaneous
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the subject matter here and supersede prior agreements on that subject.
These Terms are a generic template for a small software product. They are not legal advice. Have a qualified attorney review them for your situation.
